InterText 57: Father Christmas Must Die!!!

InterText, "The Online Fiction Magazine," published short stories via the "Net" from 1991 through 2004. Wait — don't allow me to gloss over that timespan. Nineteen Ninety-One! Were you online in 1991? Me and my buddy Bobby Parks were the first students at our high school to send an email — to some girl at Maynard High, whose name I forget, but she was way cooler than we were because she was a senior and I was only a sophomore, and Bobby was a freshman — and that was a year later in 1992. (Yes, I'm old.)

So while Jason Snell stopped publishing InterText Magazine back in aught-four, MattLally.com remains in debt to him, and to others like him, for helping keep the short story a viable source of entertainment.

All 57 issues are still available online, and if you haven't read them, well, hey — they're new to you! Some are better than others, of course. If you're looking for a place to start, start at the end. Issue 57 was pretty good — particularly "Father Christmas Must Die!!!" — though if you can help it, try not to read the little intros before the stories.
