InterText, "The Online Fiction Magazine," published short stories via the Internet from 1991 through 2004. Wait don't allow me to gloss over that. Nineteen Ninety-One! Were you online in 1991? Me and my buddy Bobby Parks were the first students at our high school to send an e-mail to some girl at Maynard High, whose name I forget, but she was way cooler than we were because she was a senior and I was only a sophomore, and Bobby was a freshman and that was a year later in 1992. (Yes, I'm old.)
So while Jason Snell stopped publishing InterText three years ago, MattLally.com remains in debt to him, and to others like him, for helping keep the short story a viable source of entertainment. All 57 issues are still available online, and if you haven't read them, hell they're new to you! Some are better than others, of course. If you're looking for a place to start, start at the end. Issue 57 was pretty good particularly "Father Christmas Must Die!!!" though if you can help it, try not to read the little intros before the stories. ![]() |
